This postcard, showing an aerial view of the Tower of London, uses a painting used by Great Western Railway for a poster in 1938 to promote rail travel to London. The piece of art is by Frank Henry Mason (1875-1965) who spent time at sea after being educated at HMS Conway. As an artist he was best known for his maritime, coastal, shipping and harbour paintings as well as being the creator of art-deco rail and travel posters.
